Botox Cosmetic
Botox Cosmetic has been used for 15 years to reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by over active facial muscles. Botox Cosmetic is not a filler like Juvederm or Radiesse. Rather, it works by relaxing the muscles involved in certain dynamic wrinkles or expression lines. The FDA has approved its cosmetic use for the glabellar region (between the eyebrows/frown lines). Physicians also use it for crow’s feet (lateral to the eyes), bunny lines (side of the nose), forehead and elsewhere on the face. Wherever the muscles of facial expression contribute to wrinkles, Botox can help make these lines less prominent. Results typically last up to 4 months.

Radiesse
The next generation dermal filler goes beyond filling wrinkles and folds. Lasting up to one year, Radiesse stimulates new collagen formation which should be permanent. Originally used to add volume in the cheeks, Radiesse is ideal for correcting deeper wrinkles around the mouth and chin, the so called “smile lines” or “marionette lines”. It is also works well to restore the volume in the upper ckeek and improve the hollow appearance below the eyelids.
Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels have been used for decades to exfoliate the top layers of skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen and new cell growth. Chemical peels can also be used to reduce the appearance of age spots and melasma (mask of pregnancy), acne, acne scarring, and sun damaged skin, including pre-skin cancers. For best results, superficial peels should be performed every 3-4 weeks. Adequate sun protection and ongoing skin care with one of our skin rejuvenation lines, such as Replenix, Obagi and Kinerase, maximize peel results and help maintain results for as long as possible. Superficial peels typically have no down time. Deeper peels can require 4-5 days down/recovery time.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy, developed more than 75 years ago, remains the treatment of choice for most spider veins and some smaller varicose veins on the legs. The procedure involves the injection of a small quantity of liquid (sclerosing agent) into the vein through a tiny needle. The sclerosing agent displaces blood from the vessel causing irritation and damage to the wall of the vessel. The inside of the vessel becomes scarred and it ultimately absorbed by the body.
Using Asclera, a detergent sclerosing solution, is safer, more effective , and less painful than saline injections. It is also preferred by most experts in the field; ironically, it is not FDA approved! Treatments are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart with 2-3 treatment typically required to fully eliminate vessels. Compression using ace wraps or preferably compression stockings is needed for 4 days after sclerotherapy. Sun protection is important for one month after sclerotherapy.
Dysport
Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA), is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age. Dysport ‘s active ingredient (botulinum toxin Type A) is the same active ingredient as in Botox Cosmetic (onabotilinumtoxinA) and is also approved by the FDA. Results typically last up to four months initially, but potentially longer if treatment is continued. In clinical studies, Dysport showed earlier onset and less injection site pain.
Perlane
Perlane, is an injection to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasalabial folds, marionette lines and frown lines. Perlane is made of hyaluronic acid, the same as Juvederm, to act like your own natural hyaluronic acid and replace lost volume for a more youthful appearance. One treatment lasts up to six months to 12 months.
Restylane
Restylane, the only FDA product approved for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years of age. Restylane is made of a clear gel with a unique formulation of hyaluronic acid, a protein naturally occurring in the body, providing the fullness and definition needed to create lips that are just right for you. These results are obtained with just one treatment and they can last up to 6 months.
